CHAP GOH MEH CNY DINNER ROAD TRIP 2024

Escape the ordinary and join us on a road trip where customs of old blend seamlessly with modern vibrancy.

Destination: Johor Bahru – Where Tradition Meets Excitement! Picture vibrant streets adorned with lanterns, the aroma of delectable Chinese delicacies wafting through the air, and the discharge of fireworks create an atmosphere of pure exhilaration.

This is an easy drive to a very old part of Johore which very few people are aware of. We’ll do a slow dinner beside Johore River.

After dinner, we’ll do the Firefly Cruise.

After the firefly cruise, we do something auspicious for the last night of Chinese New Year 2024 – by releasing a Sky Lantern into the sky. This is the famous Guo Min Tang lantern which we have heard so much of in Taiwan and Thailand.

We include a set of fire crackers – the old-fashioned style which many of our young children have not seen. You are at liberty to buy more at the counter if you wish. Our host has a variety of some real fiery fireworks too!

The price for this trip covers: dinner, firefly cruise, sky lantern and a set of fire crackers.

This is a day trip, so you won’t need to do much. If you are coming, there is not much to do except to fill in the entry form and email it to me. As with all FootWorks tours, you will need to sign an indemnity form.

ITINERARY
1300hrs: We meet at 1pm at the car park in front of the old Jurong Bird Park. Mark attendance and briefing.

1330hrs: Convoy moves to Petronas (Gelang Patah R&R – North bound)

If time permits, a day tour to Telok Sengat

1930hrs: Dinner at Telok Sengat (Johore Riverbank).

2000hrs Firefly Cruise followed by releasing the Sky Lanterns. The highlight here is the Fire Cracker session. Parents are reminded to look after our children. We will not take any risk with any of the fire crackers – especially the red fire cracker (ang pow).

2100hrs: End of tour (Please note timing is approximate)

BRIEFING SESSION
No, we don’t need any briefing. It is a very simple trip across to Johore River. You just need to meet me inside the car park in front of the old Jurong Bird Park (at Jurong). We’ll go there as a convoy. Any car is OK to come.

PAYMENT
We’ll go cashless. We do PayNow.

CLOSING DATE
8th February 2024 is the closing date as we have to book our allotments then. Payment is also have to be made by 8th February 2024.
