SEAH IM BUNKER & KEPPEL HILL TREK
Sat, 7th Dec 2024
9am to 11.30am

Hidden away in a quiet corner of Singapore, the Seah Im Bunker off Seah Im Road was once an undiscovered treasure. During the height of Covid-19, explorers – both amateur and professional – turned it into a mini-star attraction.

Today, the route to the bunker is no longer a secret. Join me on an excursion that will also take us to the once-abandoned Keppel Hill Reservoir. Like the Seah Im Bunker, the reservoir is no longer a hidden gem. Multiple paths lead to it, and it is well-visited during weekends.

Nearby, we will visit the Japanese Tomb of Ekasa Komoto, another popular spot nestled in the jungle. Despite the popularity of these sites, there are still numerous abandoned structures and monuments in Singapore, though many are off-limits to the public due to military use or safety concerns.

Most of Singapore’s battle relics are hidden in the remaining one percent of jungle. It’s hard to imagine, but when Stamford Raffles arrived in 1819, some 99 percent of the island was covered in lush jungle!

Join me and experience this slice of “jungle” before it’s transformed into yet another hillside condominium overlooking the harbour, much like what’s happening to the Clementi and Dover forests.

Meet me at Exit A, street level, HarbourFront MRT, at 9am on Sat, 7th Dec 2024. This tour will begin and end at HarbourFront MRT station.
