Discover one of Singapore’s most endearing cemeteries on this walking tour. Far from spooky, Bukit Brown Cemetery is a delightful spot for a weekend stroll.
Though it may seem ancient, the last burial here was in 1973. Over the past decade, Bukit Brown has become a popular place for dog walking, jogging, and leisurely exploration. Cyclists and adventurers alike have found their way to this historic site.
Join us as we journey back to 1850, sharing stories of the super-rich and how their fortunes were made – and lost. Hear the seldom-told tale of Low Nong Nong, a pauper whose unfortunate death reveals the lengths our forefathers went to build our nation.
We’ll “meet” some of the very wealthy and many of the very poor at Paupers’ Hill. Bukit Brown is a collection of little hills and knolls, each holding a piece of history and untold stories. The serene, rustic atmosphere is an added bonus.
Meeting Point: Marymount MRT, Exit A, street level at 8:30am on 7th September 2024. The tour concludes around 12:00pm, possibly extending to 12:30pm.
Join us for a walk through history and discover the hidden stories of Bukit Brown.
