Becoming a guide can be physically demanding and requires extensive research, meaning you’ll need to do quite a bit of reading. But it’s not all hard work. With the right mindset, the journey can be both enjoyable and rewarding.

Once you’ve secured your licence, you can choose your own path – whether as a Nature Guide, Cultural Guide, Heritage Guide, or something else entirely. No matter which path you take, you might find that not everyone takes tourist guides seriously.

For many, a tourist guide is someone they meet only for the duration of the tour. But with the advent of digital technology, this is changing. Modern-day Tourist Guides can now stay connected with almost all tourists, whether they are incoming or outgoing.
