KEONG SAIK, JAPANESE STREET & FLANDERS SQUARE RED-LIGHT DISTRICT WALK
Sun, 30th June 2024
9am to 1pm

Join us for an immersive walking tour that delves into Singapore’s sex industry and its history. This tour offers a unique perspective on the lives of those in the profession, from the professional sex worker to the street walker.

Discover the evolution of Singapore’s sex industry, starting from the arrival of the first shipload of sex workers to today’s digital era. Along the way, we’ll visit historical brothels, some of which have closed their doors, while others are just reopening.

Our tour takes us through Flanders Square and Petain Road (Kin Chio Kar), where a number of brothels have recently reopened. Experience this area without guilt by joining Uncle Chris on an educational and innocent exploration.

This tour also offers a unique insight for women to understand the life of a sex worker at Kin Chio Kar. We start at Keong Saik Road and finish at Flanders Square, covering a significant distance on foot.

IMPORTANT INFO: This tour is for adults only and is not suitable for children. Please consider your participation responsibly.

Meeting Point:
Meet at the coffeeshop at the junction of Neil Road and Keong Saik Road. Bring your MRT card as we’ll take the train to Farrer Park station.

Timing:
The tour starts at 9am and is expected to conclude by 1pm, possibly extending to 1:30pm. Please note this is a fairly long walking tour.

Uncle Chris will be having lunch at 22 Flanders Square, now a Japanese restaurant. This location is significant as it was where Coco Ng, a sex worker, was tragically killed in 2008. The case remains unsolved. Join us for an eye-opening journey through Singapore’s red-light district and uncover stories from both past and present.
