LITTLE INDIA WALKING TOUR
Mon, 13th Nov 2023
9am to 11.30am

Today, let’s rejoice in the vibrant festival of Deepavali! A warm welcome to Little India, the heart of all things exciting and culturally rich.

We gather at the crossroads of Hasting Road and Serangoon Road, right by the charming Little India Arcade. You can’t possibly miss this iconic spot, the perfect starting point for our enchanting walking tour. The nearest MRT station is conveniently named Little India. Our rendezvous time is 9am, and we aim to conclude our adventure by 11:30am, or at the very latest, by noon.

Our journey will traverse the bustling “main street” known as Campbell Lane, a place brimming with a kaleidoscope of colours, captivating sights, and enticing aromas. By the end of our exploration, you’ll uncover a myriad of fascinating facts about Little India that you never knew existed.

We’ll stroll through the charming streets, delving into every facet of Little India, including the good, the bad, and the intriguing. To accomplish this, we’ll embark on a historical voyage, beginning from the heart of India itself.

Yes, you heard it right, we’ll travel back in time to pre-colonial India, navigate through the colonial era, and eventually arrive in Asia, finding our way to Singapore. It’s a compelling historical narrative that promises to captivate your imagination.

Together, we’ll unravel the captivating stories hidden within the tapestry of Little India. Is Fish Head Curry a genuine Indian delicacy, and how did it come into existence? We’ll trace its origins, its creators, and the fascinating journey it undertook. Fish Head Curry isn’t your run-of-the-mill street food; there’s more to it than meets the eye. Join us as we uncover its secrets.

I assure you a delightful morning filled with tales and exciting discoveries. Mark your calendar for the 13th of Nov 2023, a bright Monday morning (an off-day in lieu of Deepavali).

Join me at the intersection of Hasting and Serangoon Roads at 9am, and let’s embark on this unforgettable adventure together.
