PUNGGOL VILLAGE WALKING TOUR
Sun, 23rd June 2024
9am to 12pm

Discover the Hidden Treasures of Punggol: Join Our Walking Tour!

Once upon a time, “Punggol” was synonymous with a long, beautiful road leading to a popular seafood haven. For many baby boomers, Punggol was all about the seafood!

But Punggol has a rich history, heritage, and culture that often goes unnoticed. From attap huts to “sar lee chu” (zinc roof houses) to today’s modern Digital Punggol, this area has transformed remarkably. Many of us have forgotten that not too long ago, Punggol was a vibrant kampung bustling with pig, poultry, and vegetable farming.

The famous “Matilda House” and several forgotten colonial houses have their own tales to tell, yet they remain undocumented and overlooked.

Join me on a journey to reminisce and rediscover the long-lost beautiful country road that was once Punggol.
