Luckily, Tiong Bahru found its happy ending. Eng Hoon Street, formerly notorious as “Mistress Lane,” is undergoing a remarkable transformation to enhance its reputation. A part of it will soon be pedestrianised, adding to its allure.

We are fortunate that much of Tiong Bahru’s charm has been preserved, including its charming old architecture. However, a crucial question remains: will blocks 18 to 28 along Tiong Bahru Road be conserved as well? Their fate hangs in the balance, and their loss could forever change the essence of this place.

But for now, let’s revel in the nostalgic atmosphere and old-world charm surrounding us. Our adventure begins at Tiong Bahru MRT station at 9 am.
